In a Nutshell: When the whole of humanity is threatened, former NASA pilot Cooper abandons his young daughter Murphy to go through a wormhole on a space misadventure. When asked by colleague Brand why he didn’t tell his daughter he was saving the world he tells her he wants to keep her safe. He then returns to his daughter, now 60 years older than him, abandoning Brand.

In a Nutshell: Bruce Wayne falls down a well of frantic bats. Then his parents are murdered. Alfred the butler raises him. When he is old enough, Bruce travels the world, learns fighting skills, and comes back to fight crime. He faces his childhood fears too, dressing as a Batman, thus alienating his potential true love Rachel.

Dunkirk

Dunkirk (2017)

In a Nutshell: Over a week, a bunch of young British soldiers push ahead of the French in the queue to attempt survival on Dunkirk beach. Over a day, small boats head off to do the job the Navy couldn’t. Over an hour, the Spitfire fends off the Messerschmidt, before being captured by the Germans.
